In these unprecedented times, Axiom Stone Solicitors will, in common with other businesses, be following the Government's official advice on social distancing and social isolating.

Public health measures must have the highest priority and, as a result, some staff will be working from home. Also, our offices will be closed to visitors.

However, we wish to reassure existing and potential clients that we will continue to provide the highest levels of service.

Please be assured we have a robust business continuity plan in place that is designed to minimise the impact on our service to you.

In addition, please continue to contact us electronically or by phone in relation to the progress of your matters or on any issues of concern to you.

Until further notice, service of claim forms, application notices and all other court documents and contractual notices must be made to our head office only (we shall not accept service through any other means). Our head office address is at Axiom Stone Solicitors, Axiom House, 1 Spring Villa Road, Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 7EB. We ask that all other correspondence be sent by email to the relevant member of Axiom Stone Solicitors. In the event that service of court documents or contractual notices is attempted by post, courier, DX, or fax to any address other than that of our Head Office, we cannot provide any assurance that they will be received or processed. We are grateful for your understanding at this time.

We will update this information regularly on our website (Please see COVID-19 Updates Here) and via social media.

Finally, we urge everybody to follow the official advice on fighting the virus outbreak so enabling you to stay safe and well.

Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa

The Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa is for highly skilled individuals in science, humanities, engineering, arts and digital technology. Under this route, you can work for any employer or be self-employed.

There are two stages in the application process for this route:

Stage 1 – Endorsement:  You need to be endorsed by one of the Designated Competent Bodies listed below, who will inform the Home Office that you meet the qualifying and eligibility criteria and have reached the appropriate level to be endorsed under this route:

  • Arts Council England – for arts and culture applications;
  • The British Academy – for humanities and social science applications;
  • The Royal Society – for natural sciences and medical science research applications;
  • The Royal Academy of Engineering – for engineering applications;
  • Tech City UK – for digital technology applications.

If you are applying to be considered by Tech City UK, you must also complete a separate form that includes questions specific to digital technology applicants.

The above Designated Competent Bodies assess applications as follows:

  • Exceptional Talent criteria: You must demonstrate that you have made a significant contribution as a leader in your field.
  • Exceptional Promise criteria: If you are unable to provide evidence of your contribution you must show the potential to make significant contributions as a future leader in your field.

Once you have received an endorsement from the Designated Competent Body, you will have passed stage 1 of the process and you can then move onto stage 2.

Stage 2 – Immigration Application:  At this stage, you need to submit your visa application form to the Home Office along with a copy of your endorsement letter.  You must apply for stage 2 within three months of receiving your endorsement, otherwise your application will be refused and you will have to re-apply for a new endorsement.

If your application is approved from outside the UK, you will be granted with 5 years and 4 months initial leave or leave for 5 years if you are applying from inside the UK. You can apply to extend your leave for a maximum period of 5 years.  You may apply for settlement once you’ve been in the UK for 3 years under the exceptional talent criteria or if you’ve been in the UK for 5 years under the exceptional promise criteria.

Your family

Your family members (partners and children under 18) can apply to join you in the UK under this visa. Once your application is approved, you will be granted leave in line with the main applicant’s leave. If you wish to apply for further leave or apply for settlement in the UK, this again will be in accordance with the leave granted to the main applicant.
